Legal practitioners

Legal practitioners often consult API members on property matters and on the specialised topic of valuation of plant and machinery.

Lawyers and their clients will both benefit from being able to access the manual on line.  The importance of an API member receiving detailed instructions is specified in the manual and legal practitioners will be able to clearly identify and understand what needs to be taken into account as part of their client’s instructions.

Correctly briefed, an API member will be able to provide clients with impartial professional advice in accordance with widely available international and/or Australian standards. 

The manual also provides a Guidance Note on API members acting as an expert witness, advocate or arbitrator.
